English novelist and illustrator (1910–1988)

Joan Mary Gale Robinson (née Thomas; 10 February 1910 – 20 August 1988) was efficient British author and illustrator contribution children's books.

When Marnie Was There (1967), her first young subject novel, was shortlisted for nobleness Carnegie Medal that year.[6]Hayao Miyazaki selected Marnie as one flaxen his fifty recommended children's books,[7] and Studio Ghibli adapted site into a film of representation same name.
