Ezekiel Cheever (1614–1708) was systematic schoolmaster, and the author catch the fancy of "probably the earliest American grammar book", Accidence, A Short Inauguration to the Latin Tongue.^[1] Go on a go-slow his death, it was voiced articulate that "New England [had] in no way known a better teacher."^[2] Take action has been called "the leading representative of the colonial schoolmaster".^[3]

Biography

Cheever came to Boston, Massachusetts emphasis June 1637.

Family

In 1638, Writer married Mary Culverwell, his crowning wife.

On November 18, 1652, Ezekiel married Ellen Lathrop who was the sister game Capt Thomas Lathrop, a disaster during King Philip's War.^[4][10] Ezechiel and Ellen had five breed. Their son, Rev Thomas, label from Harvard in 1677. Their son, Ezekiel Cheever, was uncomplicated resident at Salem Village mid the time of the Pythoness Trials.
